Tesla has designed what appears to be a functional ventilator based largely on existing Tesla parts which they can source in volume. I suppose it won’t be open source, but I am hopeful that they can ramp up production quickly at least for the US and maybe Europe.
There are some promising modifications to commercial CPAP machines which can enable BiPAP operation and potentially even suitable ventilator functionality.
