Dual material 3D printed gripper and new open source 3D printer design

Hey check out these machines!

I saw this simple gripper first and its really elegant.

But the cool thing is that the creator Marc Schömann aka “Layershift” designed and built the 3D printer used to make it. After experimenting with the e3d Kraken nozzle and struggling with nozzle dragging and ooze, Marc designed the Blackbox 3D printer to finally combine soft and hard plastics in the same 3D print. The final design trick that made them adhere to each other is a mechanical underhang that physically locks the different printed materials together. Marc is running the blackbox printer on the 2019 Hackaday Challenge. Check out the hackaday entry here!
