Reasons for the machine - third world labor standards

When you participate in an economy owned by others in order to acquire the goods you need for survival, you have to agree to the social contract being offered by the distributor and manufacturers of those goods.

That means, for example, agreeing to the state of labor standards in third world countries, or convincing yourself that by supporting the businesses who profit from this situation, you’re somehow improving those conditions.

I thought this 30 minute documentary on the fight for living wages for garment workers in 14 East Asian garment manufacturing countries was an informative view in to what that means.
